Sand Smuggling
The Kinathukadavu Police in the Coimbatore Rural Police limits have registered a case against All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) legislator from Perur S.P. Velumani for allegedly threatening the supervisor of a sand godown with dire consequences for smuggling sand to Kerala.According to police, the supervisor, Saravanan, had lodged a complaint that Mr. Velumani and a few others had come to the godown, alleged that sand was being smuggled to Kerala and also threatened to cause harm to him. Cases for unlawful assembly, trespass and threat to murder were filed against the MLA and 10 others.
