Doctors, Nurses & Other Staffs Urged Govt For Protection
More than 200 doctors, nurses and other staff in Primary Health Centres and Government hospitals in the district today urged the Collector to provide protection and government property in the next pulse polio campaign in February, in view of attacks on them, following rumours of death, after administering polio drops.Apprising the collector V Palanikumar at the collectorate about yesterday's incidents, they said that the public were targeting them and the property, to vent their ire, for no fault of theirs. To prevent recurrence of such incidents, the administration should take steps to provide security and protection to the employees, particularly women, and also the Centres and Hospitals, they said.
