ID Cards For Narikuravas
Collector V Palanikumar on Monday distributed 100 identity cards to Narikurava community members at the Collectorate, enlisting them as members of the Welfare Board for Narikurava. One hundred identity cards have been issued out of the 171 applications received so far and the administration has identified at least 580 Narikurava families. People from the Narikurava community in the age group of 18 to 60 are eligible to become welfare board members. They should approach the District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare office at the Collectorate.Welfare board members are eligible for an accident insurance of Rs 10,000 to Rs 1,00,000 ; assistance of Rs 15,000 to the family in the event of natural death and Rs 2,000 towards cremation expenses; Rs 1,000 to Rs 6,000 as education assistance; Rs 2,000 towards marriage expenses; Rs 6,000 towards maternity assistance; Rs 3,000 for abortion; and Rs 500 as assistance for spectacles and Rs 400 as old age pension.
