Panther Found At Naickenpalayam Residential Localtiy

A 45-day old panther cub which strayed into a residential locality on the city outskirts was rescued by forest department personnel. According to forest department sources, the cub was noticed by the villagers of Naickenpalayam in a cow shed and they immediately informed the department. Senior forest officials, with the department veterinarian, rushed to the spot and retrieved it. The panther was being given milk and lactogen through feeding bottle. After getting instructions from higher authorities, it would either be shifted to some nearby wildlife sanctuary or Vandaloor Zoo near Chennai, the sources said.
