Bharathiraja Met Seeman

Film director Bharathiraja along with director R.K. Selvamani and critic Pamaran on Tuesday visited director Seeman, Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam leader Kolathur Mani and Secretary of the Tamil Desiya Poduvudamai Iyakkam Maniarasan who are in judicial custody at the Coimbatore Central Prison. Mr. Bharathiraja said that there would be no effort to meet the Chief Minister seeking the release of Seeman and two others.


Lawyers appearing for them would fight the case. To a query on the reaction of the film industry, Mr. Bharathiraja said that there was no need for consolidation of strength on the basis of industry and all those who have a concern for the race could come together soon on a common platform to fight. When asked about the charge levelled by senior Congress leader and former Union Minister S.R. Balasubramaniyon that the Tamil film industry was getting funds from the LTTE, Mr.Bharathiraja said that it was for Mr.Balasubramaniyon to prove the charge.
