Sri Lankan Repatriate Dead:
Kavundas, 59, a Sri Lankan repatriate, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his residence at Mattasalai, off Tiruchi Road, on Wednesday. The victim, a retired watchman, was suspected to have consumed poison due to personal reasons.
Life Convict Found Dead:
A life convict was found dead hanging from the roof of a kitchen in the Coimbatore central prison. He was arrested for killing his pregnant wife in 2003. Further investigations are on.
Graduation:
The 9th Graduation Day of Shree Sarasswathi Vidhyaah Mandheer, Mettupalayam, will be held on the institute premises on February 8 at 4 p.m. R. Radhakrishnan, Speaker, Puducherry Legislative Assembly, will be the chief guest.

According to a university release, the workshop will create awareness about IPR among academicians and scientists and devise IPR-related syllabi for universities and research institutes.

The Department of Biotechnology of the PSG College of Technology will organise a colloquium on Biosensors on February 13 and 14. According to a release, the forum will provide opportunities for establishing collaborations, identifying avenues for overcoming obstacles in research.
