Financial Assistance To Continue Higher Study
P. Prabhu (18) who had to discontinue his higher education owing to lack of financial resources and take up the job of a hair dresser is now able to continue his education, thanks to the financial support that is flowing in from all sides. His family is overwhelmed. Prabhu, son of Panchalingam from Gudimangalam in Udumalpet taluk was forced to discontinue his second ECE course at the Palani Subramaniam Engineering College since he could not find resources for pursuing his further education. This story had appeared in a newspaper. P. Sivanandi, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Coimbatore Range, noticed the news and asked Raja, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Udumalpet, to enquire about the boy and the financial condition of his family.
On learning the state of affairs that ruined the higher education of the boy, the police came forward to contribute their share of assistance to enable the boy to continue his education. Mahendran, a social worker cum businessman and a Wind Firm in Udumalpet also came forward to contribute some money. Thus, on Thursday, a sum of Rs 17,000 was handed over to the boy. He is rejoining the college on Friday, said Mr.Sivanandi.
To ensure that no further set back is caused to the boy’s education, Mr.Sivanandi has assured the family that the boy’s educational expenses would be taken care of by the police till the boy get a degree.
