Weekend Drive Against Violation Of Road Rules

In a release, Deputy Transport Commissioner, Coimbatore Circle, T. Gunasekaran said that as many as 285 omni buses were checked and 29 cases were registered for various violations while 1,302 other vehicles were checked and 172 cases were registered for violation of road rules. As many as nine cases of unaccompanied luggage or parcels in omni buses were detected. Four cases of plying without tax were detected. As far as omni buses were concerned Rs. 2,20,315 was collected as compounding fee and Rs. 7,200 was collected as compounding fee from omni buses. The tax collected from vehicles other than omni buses were Rs. 67,511 and tax proposed was Rs. 1,500.
