Baroda is planning to set up a round-the-clock regional back office for northern region in Jaipur, which will cater to about 450 branches located in Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and Uttarakhand, according to
Bank of
Baroda Chairman and Managing Director M D Mallya.
The bank will set up four other such regional back offices in Baroda, Coimbatore, Bhopal and Lucknow.
"We will hire 70 people for our
Jaipur back office for activities like account opening, signature scanning, FDR renewals etc. All our offices are likely to be operational by April 2009," he said.
The bank is also planning to increase its footprints in
Rajasthan by opening 17 new branches in the state. The bank, with 348 branches in the state, is generating a business of Rs 17,000 crore.
