The National Board of Examinations has awarded a gold medal in gastro-intestinal surgery to Consultant Surgeon P. Senthilnathan of city-based Gem Hospital. The board has said that Dr. Senthilnathan had won the medal for his performance while doing a three-year super speciality degree offered by it for doctors who had already done their post-graduation. A release from the hospital said he was the joint secretary of the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India. Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit presented the medal to Dr. Senthilnathan at a function in New Delhi on February 28. Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss and board President A. Rajasekaran were present.
