Topslip opened !
The Anamalai Tiger Reserve, which remained closed due to summer from March 1 to April 30, will be thrown open for tourists with effect from May 1.
A release from the Field Director of ATR, H. Basuvaraju, said that during the dry spell fearing summer forest fires and taking into account the lack of water for visiting tourists, the sanctuary was closed. Now, with a few showers having renewed the vegetation and water availability there had been persistent requests from the wildlife enthusiasts, nature lovers to re-open the sanctuary.
Though there had not been adequate rain, it was decided to open the sanctuary for tourists considering the requests made by school and college students in mind, he said. Arrangements have also been made at Top Slip and vehicle and elephant safaris are also back in place.
