C.R. Jestin of Popular Motors won the Castrol Golden Spanner Awards at a contest held at Coimbatore city level recently.Close to 400 car mechanics participated in the contest. Mr. Jestin finished the Coimbatore city finals with 565 points. He will now represent Coimbatore at the national finals to be held in Chandigarh later this month. Anuradha Bambawale, Marketing Manager, Passenger Car Oils, Castrol India Limited said C. Thangaraj of CRT Motors finished as runner up with 495 points.
He too was awarded the Castrol golden spanner. All mechanics qualified for the city level finals have been covered by Castrol with an accident insurance policy worth Rs. 2 lakhs each.The grand prize for the All India winner of the Castrol Golden Spanner Awards is a miniature of gold model of a car.
