Miraculous escape for bus passengers
Fifty-five passengers travelling in the Tiruchirapalli-bound Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus had a miraculous escape on the Ondipudur flyover on Sunday night.
According to eye-witness account, bus driver Stanley Kennedy was said to have peeped out of the window to see whether any vehicle was attempting to overtake.
At that time, he hit his head against a lamp post on the flyover and fell off his seat and the bus started running out of control. One of the passengers was quick enough to get onto the driver’s seat and applied brake bringing the bus to a halt. The driver succumbed to his injuries.
