ICICI Bank's grwoth areas
Coimbatore: The rural segment is one of the areas identified as engines of growth by ICICI Bank, according to its Senior Genral Manager Rajiv Sabharwal.He told presspersons here on Wednesday that for the rural segment, the bank was looking at products that were similar to the ones offered to the urban customers but customised to those in the rural areas. These were to cater to pre-harvest and post-harvest finance needs, rural agricultural small and medium-scale enterprises, non-agricultural infrastructure and saving and investment products he added.
He said that the country’s economy was growing at over nine per cent during the last two years and it was a growth across various sectors.Apart from offering finance for implements and commodity-based products, the bank was also looking at the non-agricultural sector. This included projects such as finance for educational institutions in rural areas and warehouses.The other sectors of growth include urban retailing, international business and Indian corporates.
