TNAU's professor bagged State Award
Dr K Ramaswamy, Professor and Head, Department of Soil and Water Conservation, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, here, has won the prestigious State level 'Karmaveerar Kamarajar Award,' as first prize for his work on Environmental Management research.
The prize, instituted by the Tamil Nadu Government and carrying a purse of Rs.10,000 and a citation, was given to Ramaswamy at a function recently at Chennai.The award was in recognition for his achievements related to participatory development works in the areas of land and water management including wasteland, dryland development and various land use models, a TNAU release said.Ramaswamy's works also included biological waste water management with bioremediation techniques for reuse in irrigation, the release said.
