Board containing the details of construction should be displayed

Apparently upset at its earlier order not being complied with, the Local Planning Authority (LPA) has said that a board containing the details of construction should be displayed in front all structures coming up in the district. Collector Neeraj Mittal ordered last month that details of plan approval and a copy of the plan should be displayed so that the public could know whether the structures were authorised and also whether they conformed to the approved plan. The aim was to prevent deviations from the plan, especially using up vehicle parking space for offices or shops. A recent release from the office of the Joint Director of Coimbatore Local Planning Authority quoted the Collector as having stated that these instructions should be adhered to.The LPA would keep boards in front of unauthorised buildings, asking people not to buy or take up these on rent. Such buildings could be occupied only after obtaining the approval of the LPA. Action would be taken if the boards were removed before the approval was obtained.
