4 Arrested for hunting deer
Forest officials arrested four persons, who were hunting a spotted deer in the Sirumugai forest range, on Saturday.Sources said that, on Saturday evening, forester Srinivasan and guard Periyasamy, while on duty, got alerted by the sound of a gun shot at Dhombu Pallam. Seized a country-made gun used for hunting
Soon, they spotted five persons, cutting a spotted deer that they had hunted to take home each one’s share, and arrested them.While four were arrested, one escaped. The arrested were Chandran (35),Balan (55), Kettan (45) and Vellingiri (32), all residing in the tribal settlements in the area.They also seized a country-made gun used for hunting and ammunition.
