Junior Einstein - Science Workshop

The Rotary Club of Coimbatore East along with Sharp Industrial Training Centre will organise a practical science workshop “Junior Einstein” for school students from April 14 to 26. More than 150 students from Standard VI to X are expected to participate. The students will be given practical projects every day of the workshop. They will also get an opportunity to gaze at the marvels of the sky during the ‘star gazing’ session.
The participation fee is Rs.5,500, which includes a practical kit such as a telescope, electronic circuits, air plane model, physics and chemistry projects and an electric motor principle.
All the sessions will be handled by experts and professionals. In addition to science projects, students will also be taught skills that would be useful while handling an emergency. They will be given basic lessons in first aid, performing CPR, fire fighting, operating appliances and changing electrical fuse. The workshop will be conducted at the Coimbatore Club from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The participation fee is Rs.5,500, which includes a practical kit such as a telescope, electronic circuits, air plane model, physics and chemistry projects and an electric motor principle. The children can take their kits home after the workshop.

The proceeds from the workshop will be used by the Rotary towards their project of providing desks to rural schools. The Rotary Club of Coimbatore East will also select 10 deserving students interested in science from Government schools in and around Coimbatore. The workshop will be free for these students.
