Cutting Edge 2008

Ganga Women and Child Centre, Coimbatore and Asian Research and Training Institute for Skill Transfer, Bangalore, will jointly organise an international congress on high-risk pregnancies and infertility, “Cutting Edge 2008,” on June 7 and 8. The programme will focus on the advances in infertility treatment, such as endoscopy, hormonal stimulation, and assisted reproductive techniques. Experts in each of these areas will deliver lectures and conduct panel discussions.

“Pre-existing illness of the mother can complicate pregnancy. Obstetricians are not always equipped to address the medical and social problems of couples seeking pre-conceptional care,” said Dr.Suma Natarajan of Ganga Women and Child care Centre. More than 200 delegates from South India and speakers from the U.K. and the U.S. are expected to participate. A workshop on “Semen preparation for intrauterine insemination” will be held at the Fertility Centre of Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital, on June 7. Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee of Siruthuli, will inaugurate the congress. Raja Sabapathy, Medical Director of Ganga Hospital, will participate.
