Lotus Launching Tirupur Branch
Lotus Eye Care Hospital will launch at its Tirupur branch on July 20 the latest WaveLight-Perfect Pulse Technology that enables precision lasik and epilasik eye surgeries. The pulse technology is so advanced that the laser will fall only on the intended spot even if the eye moves, Chairman of the hospital Selva K. Sundaramurthy told presspersons here on Thursday. The doctor claimed that the perfect pulse technology represented a new approach to laser-enabled vision correction, with emphasis on speed, safety and precision.
Explaining the precision factor, he said lasers that corrected vision sculpted a shape change in the cornea. In a near-sighted eye, correction with glasses or contact lens required an additional concave lens in front of the eye. But, laser treatment removed the convex lens shape from the cornea. If each laser pulse took a tiny, sub-microscopic “bite”, all the pulses together must carry out the intended corneal shape change, he said.
