GE Healthcare has installed at Clarity Imaging Centre in the city its advanced computed tomography (CT) scanner -- LightSpeed VCT XT. Apart from improved image quality, the technology also provided twice the anatomical coverage compared to earlier versions, but with up to 24 per cent less radiation, the company and the imaging centre said. The technology provided clinical excellence and outstanding image quality. It reduced dose exposure for patients, said Consultant Radiologist and Managing Director of Clarity Imaging Centre K.S. Murugan. Lowering the dose was a very responsible thing to do and it required a good partnership between manufacturers and radiologists, he added. The new equipment non-invasively assisted physicians in diagnosis in a variety of areas.
