Daily 5 Hours Power Cut
Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has divided Coimbatore region into four divisions and load shedding will be implemented in four phases every day from Sunday (August 31). A release from the board says that each division will have three hours of power disruption in the morning, one hour in the evening peak hour and one hour at night. During this period, power supply will not be available to low tension, high tension and extra high tension consumers. The board appealed to the extra high tension and low tension CT consumers to use generator sets during evening peak hours (6 p.m. to 10 p.m.). It has banned the use of welding sets during evening peak hours. For agricultural consumers, three phase supply will be available for six hours during day time. The TNEB requested the agricultural consumers not to use pumpsets during evening peak hours. It also appealed to the public to avoid using decorative or neon lights. Municipalities and other local bodies should not keep street lights on when not needed, according to the release.
