2 Persons Died Of Vomiting & Diarrhoea
Two persons died of vomiting and diarrhoea at the Mettupalayam Government hospital in the district during the last 36 hours, official sources said. Though the district health department ruled out any outbreak of cholera, 22 persons were admitted to the hospital since Thursday afternoon following severe vomiting and diarrhoea, the sources said.While one person who died due to dehydration, was identified as Dilip , a construction worker from Orissa, the identity of another was yet to be ascertained. However, the department attributed his death due to kidney failure, the sources said. Majority of the persons admitted to the hospital belonged to Karamadai block near Mettupalayam. Drinking untreated water could be the main reason for the diarrhoea, the sources said.
