46 Cooperative Societies Registered For Handloom Mark Scheme
As many as 46 cooperative societies and two retailers in Coimbatore have registered for the handloom mark scheme, according to a release from the Textiles Committee. The mark has been used by them for domestic fabric and domestic made-ups. The scheme covers all handloom fabrics and products and is operational through out the country.
The aim of the scheme is to provide a collective identity to handloom products. Individual weavers, master weavers, primary handloom weavers’ cooperative societies, apex societies, State handloom corporations, retailers, manufacturer exporters and merchant exporters can register for the scheme.
