The Small Industries’ Testing and Research Centre has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with VLB Janakiammal College of Engineering and Technology. A release from the centre said the objective of the three-year agreement was to do joint research and development projects for the growth of the industries. “Modern infrastructure facilities combined with expertise of experienced and technical manpower of both the institutions can be used effectively for research and development activities,” according to the release.
Some of the specific works planned were: design and develop new products and technology, design motors and pumps, quality control systems, evaluate performance of a product for its endurance and life, work on re-engineering and value engineering, the release said. The centre signed an MoU with the PSG college too this year.
