LMW sets new record in spindles supply
Coimbatore: Riding on the boom in the Indian textile sector, textile machinery major Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW), Coimbatore has created a new milestone in meeting the demands of the Indian textile industry. During Janaury- December, the company had supplied a record 2.5 million spindles In a statment on Tuesday, LMW said it plans to roll out 3.5 million spindles between January- December 2007. This is in line with the Indian textile industry’s vision of growing to a level of $ 110 Billion by 2012 from the current level of $ 50 Billion.
"This effort of LMW will facilitate the industry’s growth. The company anticipates a minimum 20 - 25 % increase in its yearly production of textile machinery" a spokesperson said .
Coimbatore LMW is the world’s largest producer of ring frames and the milestone of 2.5 million spindles within a year goes to prove that volumes are offered to the industry, the statement said. Induction of addilional manufacturing facilities from the world’s best sources is said to have made this feat possible.
LMW, a leading technology provider of totally integrated spinning machinery, has 23 million spindles in operation worldwide.
