Hostel Facility For Muslim Girl Students
The district administration has said that Muslim girl students of colleges and schools in the city can avail themselves of free hostel facility provided by the Government if their houses were located far away from these institutions. A press release issued by District Collector V. Palanikumar has said that the Government had ordered the establishing of a separate hostel for Muslim girl students. The Principals of the Government Arts College and the Government Women’s Polytechnic were also informed of this.Students would be eligible for free hostel facility if their parents’ annual income was within Rs.1 lakh. Priority would be based on the distance from home to institution. Students could apply to District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Officer at the Collectorate by providing their name, father’s name, residential address, name of the college/school in Coimbatore city, annual income of parents and details relating to religion and caste.
