PDS Will Sell Pongal Ingredients
Collector V. Palanikumar, has announced that in view of the Pongal festival in January the Public Distribution System (PDS) outlets in the district would be selling Pongal ingredients to the family card holders from January 1 to 14 except the N card holders (i.e., no commodity cards). The commodities packed in a separate bag with Pongal greetings would be supplied to the card holders free of cost. The commodities would be available for a fortnight.Theschedule of supply for card holders based on streets and locality have been prepared and displayed at the respective PDS outlets. Mr. Palanikumar said that the ingredients to be supplied would include raw rice half kg, jaggery half kg, green gram 100 grams, besides 20 grams of cardamom, dry grapes and cashew.
