Opium Seized
The Narcotic Intelligence Bureau (NIB-CID) on Tuesday nabbed S. Murugesan of Bhavani Main Road and recovered 1.5 kg of opium from him. On receiving reports about smuggling of opium into Tamil Nadu from northern States, special teams were on the hunt. A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police K. Ramasamy along with Inspector P. Thangavel intercepted the motorcycle-borne accused in the early hours of the day.
