SP Issued Guidelines For Cattle Transport
Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore, N. Kannan has issued a set of guidelines to truck operators who transport cattle to various places within the State and across the border.
Mr. Kannan said that transporters should obtain a certificate from a veterinarian that the cattle were fit for transportation. There should be a first aid box in the truck. . Those travelling in the truck should be in possession of details of the cattle owner and the intended recipient. , Cattle/livestock in advanced stages of pregnancy should not be transported with other cattle. There should not be more than six livestock in one single truck and every truck should have adequate cattle feed and water. In the event of violation of any of these guidelines the cattle and the trucks would be confiscated.
