Monsanto organises ‘Aruvadai Thiruvizha’
Monsanto India Limited organised Dekalb 900 M Gold ‘Aruvadai Thiruvizha’ in Udumalpet and Tirupur to celebrate higher productivity from the Dekalb 900 M Gold high-yielding corn hybrid seeds and also to educate farmers on best agronomic practices.According to a release, farmers who had benefited from the seeds shared their experience. P. Jayabal, a farmer, said his three-acre farm produced a yield of 44 quintals an acre vis-À-vis 30 quintals when other seeds were used.
Gnana Pugalenthi, Head, Sales (Tamil Nadu), said superior quality seeds combined with timely inputs and best farming practices could impact the yield and make a difference to farmers’ lives.Christopher Samuel, Senior Manager, Public Affairs, said research-led innovation, superior breeding technologies and increased hybridisation were the key to increasing corn productivity and meeting the rising needs of corn consumers and user industries. Nearly 300 farmers from 15 villages attended.
