Sri Lankans win Formula Car Race Meet
Coimbatore: The Sri Lankan pair of Rikaz Khalid and Nalin Gunasekara put in a splendid performance to take the top spot in the Formula LGB Esteem class.
Another notable performance was from Sivakumar and Fazal Khan, who drove a steady race. With some timely pit stops, they made ground on the competition to take a very credible second place overall.
The third spot went to the team of B Vijayakumar and Sanjay Balu. Each driver had to pit and register within 29.59 minutes of each session of the two hour race, thus giving both drivers ample track time and enjoyment.
The qualifying session was also unique in nature as both team drivers had to do a single lap qualifying run. The aggregate times of both the drivers times was taken as the time for the grid position for the race. The event was co-sponsored by JK Tyres and LG Sports.
