Joint inspection by offcials @ Pilloor-II
Officials of the Coimbatore Corporation, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) and the Tamil Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) Board made a joint inspection on Wednesday of the Pilloor Dam and entire scheme area in connection with the Pilloor phase II drinking water scheme that is to be implemented at Rs.113-crore.Current drinking water position, the Commissioner said that both the storage and

The scheme is to be implemented in six packages and the electricity board will be involved in a big way in the first of these as it has to bring the water from the collection well to the tunnel, Corporation Commissioner V.K. Shanmugham said after the inspection. Officials in the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission wing of the Corporation accompanied him. There were some settlements in the area where the electricity board had to carry out its share of works. On the current drinking water position, the Commissioner said that both the storage and supply was comfortable.
