The Coimbatore Corporation has allocated Rs.81 lakh for the construction of storm water drains in seven wards and to provide tar top to a road in another in the city. Of the total allocation, Rs.71 lakh is for storm water drainage works, in view of the South West Monsoon. The allocations were announced by Mayor R. Venkatachalam at a grievances redress camp held at the North Zone office of the Corporation on Tuesday. The wards covered were: 2, 3, 17, 29, 65, 66, 70 and 72.
