MLA's Appeal To Collector
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam legislator from Perur S.P. Velumani and other party MLAs from the district appealed to District Collector V. Palanikumar on Thursday that the case registered against Mr. Velumani by the Kinathukadavu Police for allegedly threatening a sand godown supervisor be withdrawn.The supervisor, Saravanan, had lodged a complaint with the Kinathukadavu Police that Mr. Velumani and 10 others had come to the godown at Palarpathi, alleged smuggling of sand to Kerala and threatened him with dire consequences. Mr. Velumani and the other MLAs, T. Malaravan, V. Jayaraman, P.V. Damodaran and C. Shanmugavelu, met the Collector and submitted a memorandum that sought the withdrawal of the case.
