Advocates Boycotted Court
The advocates in the city boycotted court proceedings for the second day today, over ''failure'' of police department to take action against a constable, who had allegedly quarrelled with an advocate at a traffic signal a couple of days ago.Some 40 advocates also observed fast, sitting inside the court premises demanding immediate action against the constable, Bar Association sources said. About 2,000 lawyers had boycotted the court proceedings yesterday demanding that police commissioner take measures and arrange to register an FIR and subsequent action against the constable. Since there was no action from the department, the lawyers continued the boycott for the second day today also, the sources said.
