Ganesan said the party will support the January 21 state-wide agitation of farmers in protest against the government ban on toddy tapping. He demanded to know what was preventing the government from allowing toddy tapping when they"themselves were providing licences and selling IMFL ( Indian Made Foreign Liquor) through its own outlets". Asked whether the BJP was being"isolated"at the national level, Ganesan merely said his party and its allies are confident of coming back to power at the hustings.
