The drive was conducted by a team led by Deputy Manager (LPG), D. Suresh and Assistant Manager Ramya Nair on SNR Sons College Road, Avarampalayam, Kamadhenu Nagar, Indhumaa Nagar, Vilankurichi and Cheran Maanagar. The teams also distributed pamphlets on the legal position relating to misuse of domestic LPG cylinders. Officials pointed out that a 19 kg commercial cylinder cost around Rs. 781 as against the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder at a subsidised rate of Rs. 315.

The Indian Oil Corporation authorities on Friday conducted a drive against misuse of domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders for commercial purposes and seized 17 subsidised domestic LPG cylinders from eateries, bakeries, hotels and mess.
