Gangotri to open 40 exclusive stores in two years
Coimbatore-based Gangotri Textiles Ltd, which owns the 'Tibre' brand, today said it will open 40 exclusive stores for its ready-made garments over the next two years.
"We will make a slow entry into this space but the journey will be a steady one," company's Managing Director Manoj Tibrewal told reporters here.
He said the company would launch such stores in Coimbatore and Mumbai initially and then roll out to other cities.
Tibrewal was here to launch 'Tibre' brand of shirts for men.
He added that the company would concentrate on the domestic market first and then expand to overseas markets.
Gangotri had launched 'Tibre' brand of trousers for men nearly seven years ago.
The company has 10 plants and its Rs 352 crore expansion programme was nearing completion. It has 65 tonne yarn per day processing capacity and the 50,000 metres per day fabric manufacturing facility is set to be operational next month, he said.
"We will export fabrics to international brands throughout the globe and consume what we require," he said.
To a question, Tibrewal said the company expects its turnover to go up to Rs 600 crore in the next two years from Rs 350 crore in the current fiscal.
The company would also enlarge its product basket in the ready-made segment in the days to come, he added.
