National Cricket Academy @ Ooty

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to have an alternate venue for its National Cricket Academy during summer and has short-listed Dharamsala and Ooty as options."The BCCI has already taken the decision and short-listed Dharamsala and Ooty as possibile options," Sunil Dev, Sports Secretary of the Delhi and District Cricket Association and also a member of the NCA, said in Dharamsala on Sunday.

The NCA is currently headquartered in Bangalore.Sunil Dev said former India skipper and chairman of NCA, Kapil Dev, has also advocated shifting of the NCA to Dharamsala in the summer season.He said the cricket stadium at Dharmasala was like the centres in England and New Zealand where conditions were suited for fast and swing bowling.The drainage system at the stadium built by Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) was perfect, Dev said adding he has recommended the adoption of the same for Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
