On Saturday, reinforcements led by Deputy Superintendent of Police G.P. Arumugam were deployed as a matter of precaution. Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore Rural District, G. Karthikeyan, immediately after assuming office, supervised the security arrangements at the factory. Based on complaints from all sections of the workers and the management, the police said that they had registered cases against 110 persons of whom nearly 40 to 50 were identified accused while the rest were unidentified.The police sources said that 24 persons, who were suspected to have created trouble on Friday by posing as workers, had been remanded in judicial custody.The police said cases had been registered against them under various sections for unlawful assembly, unlawful assembly with deadly weapons, causing grievous hurt and attempt to murder among others.
