Seminar on turmeric trading at Erode !
To educate the traders on futures trading and its benefits, Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) organised a seminar on futures trading in turmeric and benefits to spot traders in Erode. Mr T G Senthilvelan, senior manager ,MCX, said that seminars such as these give participants a bird’s eye view into the world of futures trading and the benefits thereof to underlying producers, processors and traders belonging to the spot market.By attracting participation from stakeholders across the market spectrum, the futures market provides a neutral platform for efficient price discovery, enabling the farmer to get the best prevailing market price for his produce and other participants to hedge themselves against price risk and volatility, thereby protecting their margins, he said. Over 200 participants including cultivators, traders and suppliers were present on the occasion, the release added.
