HDFC opening branch @ Tirupur

The Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) plans to open a branch in Tirupur shortly.Its regional manager for Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Mathew Joseph, told presspersons here on Friday that the HDFC had two branches in Coimbatore city.“In Tamil Nadu our loan book is on the increase,” he said. Loans sanctioned in the State were to the tune of Rs. 2,300 crore last financial year and this year it was already Rs. 1,400 crore.Coimbatore was attracting a number of Information Technology companies and large-scale non-IT companies were also setting up units here, fuelling the demand for housing.

The Non-resident Indians of Coimbatore buying properties here was also on the rise, he pointed out. On an average, a large number of younger people were taking housing loan, he said.The HDFC was holding a property fair (“Namma Veedu”) here from November 30 to December 2.It would have 23 developers participating in the event and showcasing nearly 60 projects.A release from HDFC said developers from Chennai and Bangalore were also invited to participate in the fair.The fair would showcase projects (ranging from Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 1.5 crore), help the customers meet the senior representatives of the developers, discuss property-related queries, avail of home loan services and receive guidance on legal and technical documentation from the HDFC counsellors.Several developers had also organised vehicles that would take the visitors to the site of construction. Whirlpool was the gift sponsor and visitors could win gifts worth totally Rs. 45,000.
