40,000 cash handed over
According to the police, the duo had visited a hotel on February 25 and found a handbag with Rs. 40,000 cash and a diary with phone numbers.The duo called up the numbers and traced the owner of the bag.The bag belonged to S. Lakshmanan, an Assistant Director of Agriculture at Perambalur. He had come to Coimbatore for a surgery for his wife.After admitting his wife at a hospital in Ramanathapuram, Lakshmanan visited the hotel and had left the handbag there.The duo took the bag to Jagannathan, Secretary of the Advocates Association, and the owner was also informed.Later, the bag was handed over to Lakshmanan in the presence of Mr.Gandhirajan.
