Panchayat Union schools renovation work
The District administration has proposed to renovate all the schools in Panchayat Unions in the next three years under the Panchayat Union School Reforms Scheme.According to a release from District Collector Neeraj Mittal, renovation works in 383 Panchayat Union elementary and middle schools are in progress.Renovation work in 383 Panchayat Union elementary and middle schools
Three hundred and twenty elementary and 63 middle schools that came under the Anna Renaissance Scheme are being renovated at an outlay of Rs.1.64 crores.The schools would be painted, floors would be re-laid and the asbestos roofs would be changed to tiles besides repairs to doors and windows.The administration had also formed a committee to inspect and review the work at regular intervals.The committee comprised Panchayat President, school head master, Assistant Elementary Education officer, Panchayat Union engineers, Block Development officers and Panchayat Union members.
The committees had also been requested to identify works that were to be taken up in the current year or the coming year and prepare a report.The head masters of the schools had also been requested to identify works. Depending on the requirements, estimates would be prepared and administrative sanctions would be accorded for those projects, Mr.Mittal said.By 2008-2009, renovation of all the Panchayat Schools in the district would be completed, he added.
