Tense moments prevailed near the Government Law College
It is learnt that Jemisha (20) son of Sahabuddin of Coimbatore Law College residing at Mettuppalayam was returning home in a bus on Thursday.It is learnt that while on board the vehicle, Jemisha is said to have dashed against police constable Krishnan of Karamadai working in Rathinapuri police station.The incident reportedly ended in a wordy duel and fisticuffs. The students alleged that the constable had beaten up Jemisha.
The victim got himself admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital after lodging a complaint with the police. A case had been registered and further investigation is on.Meanwhile, demanding action against the constable the students squatted on the road in front of SP office, briefly disrupting the flow of traffic.The students later presented a petition to the Coimbatore Rural Superintendent of Police and dispersed.
