Sandel Wood Theft Continues
City Police have commenced an inquiry into an incident wherein a two-member gang is suspected to have entered a residential compound at ATD Colony in Race Course and cut a sandalwood tree by scaling over the wall on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday morning, only the stump of the tree remained there. Deputy Commissioners of Police, S. Rajendran (Law and Order), M. Vijayalakshmi (Crime) visited the scene of crime. Special teams have been formed to apprehend the culprits, City Police Commissioner, K.C. Mahali said.
