Vocational Teachers Association Urged Govt
The Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary and Postgraduate Commerce Vocational Teachers Association has urged the government to convert the vocational education courses with Business and Commerce curriculum into general stream of education. The association recently organised a gate meeting at the Kikani School.
A release from R. Gopal, district secretary of the association, said the meeting resolved to request the government to extend postgraduate teacher salary to the vocational commerce teachers who have the required qualification. Graduate Assistants appointed in 2004 were promoted as Postgraduate Teachers in 2007 whereas those recruited in 1990 and 1992 had not been promoted as Post-Graduate Teachers. Considering the 30-year service period, it pleaded for their promotion as post-graduate teachers.
