In an attempt to get the Coimbatore Central Prison campus rid of plastic litter, an awareness campaign on ill-effects of plastics on the ecological system was conducted on Friday. Prisoners were administered a pledge to shun use of plastics. A rally was taken out. The ill-effects of plastics were explained. The campaign was organised by the Prison Department in association with Senthamil Charitable Trust, Sharon Charitable Trust and Natbu, a monthly magazine.
