Case Registered For Buying Stolen Goods

The City Police have registered cases against two persons for buying stolen goods. Commissioner of Police K.C. Mahali and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic), K. Thondiraj ordered for registering cases against those buying stolen goods. N. Saravanakumar (32) of Olymbus in Ramanathapuram was arrested on charges of stealing a mobile phone from A. Prakash (21) of Selvapuram in a town bus. He admitted that he sold it to Palesh Ashokumar. The mobile phone was recovered and a case was registered against Ashokumar, a mobile phone shop owner.

Similarly, B.S. Rajasekhar of Gandhipuram 6th Street had gone out of station and on return found the doors of his house broke open and ear studs, children’s bracelets, two gold coins and silver utensils missing. Kattoor police arrested Murugan alias Umar Farooq (49) of Tirupur. He confessed that he had sold the stolen items to M. Mani (50) of Vellalore. Mani was arrested for buying jewellery worth Rs. 26,000 for Rs. 7,000.
